Currently, Pat is the Director of the Brooklyn Crescents Lacrosse Club's Boys High School Program and Advisor for Youth Lacrosse. He joined the Crescents as a parent-coach in 2007, since then he has been taking on a variety of roles in the organization, including a 3 year term as President.
Pat is also the Xavier High School (NYC) Head Lacrosse Coach. He started the club program in 2012 and in 2015 the team will field Varsity and JV teams. He also started the St. Peter’s Prep High School (Jersey City, NJ) Lacrosse Team, getting it to a Varsity status and serving as the team’s first Head Coach.
As the Executive Director of SchoolYardLax.com he is currently engaged with a number of local youth clubs, elementary & high schools; helping elevate their lacrosse programs. And he is working with individual players on skill development. Pat is on the Board of Directors of US Lacrosse’s local chapter, The Long Island Metropolitan Lacrosse Foundation, LIMLF. At the 2015 US Lacrosse National Convention, he served as a panelist addressing The Dynamic Growth of Youth Lacrosse in the Nation and was a Presenter at the convention, “Am I Crazy For Wanting to Start a Lacrosse Team – A Roadmap for Success”.
He has run urban clinics for hundreds of NYC youth players over the years and has partnered with stand out players like Billy Bitter, Brian Boyle, Drew Adams, and John Christmas to name a few.
Pat has been playing and coaching lacrosse for over 35 years. He is a US Lacrosse Certified Lacrosse Leader, Level 1 & 2 Coach, Positive Coaching Alliance –Certified Coach, as well as a USA Hockey - Certified Coach. He has been coaching a number of youth sports for over 20 years.
Pat is originally from Jersey City, NJ, where lacrosse is regaining popularity, very similar to the Brooklyn lacrosse scene. On the streets and school yards of Jersey City, is where he spent endless hours improving his stick skills.
He is a graduate of Stevens Institute of Technology where he was a walk on player his freshman year, having never played the sport. By his senior year Pat had been voted MVP & captain for 2 years in a row by his teammates. Here were a few of his collegiate lacrosse accomplishments:
- Selected to the USILA North – South All Star Team
- Inducted into the Stevens Athletic Hall of Fame
- Conference Player of the Year
- First Team All Conference – 2 years in a row
- New Jersey Collegiate Lacrosse All Star Team – 1st Team
- Set Stevens’ Single Season Assist Record for a Midfielder
- 10th in Career Points in Stevens’ History
- Selected to Stevens’ Centennial Team - 1st Midfield Line
Pat went on to play post-collegiate club & box lacrosse in Philadelphia, San Francisco, NJ & NYC.
